||Who We Are ||

Eben Mitchell – Host

I’m a young barista who has served in a variety of shops in both Annapolis (my hometown) and NYC (my new hometown). I study economics and finance in Manhattan at the King’s College, which has heavily informed how I think about what business is for. Coffee and entrepreneurship are some of my greatest passions.

Tanner Sanderford – Guest

He is a gentleman and a scholar at The King’s College and a good friend who will be consulted when we can get him on this vlog.

|| What We Care About ||

IS IT GOOD

Coffee is beautiful – Waltz, jazz, watercolor, and sunrises are close cousins to the beauty found in coffee. Like any art or science, the production of making coffee can be peer reviewed to increase its quality. This accountability can be useful both to the producer and consumer in the coffee industry. Both will be more informed. We want coffee to be good – with this blog, we want to attract customers to shops that make beautiful coffee.

IS IT SOCIALLY ETHICAL

With recent and oncoming waves of coffee and social entrepreneurship, there are many companies out there who are conscious of the local and global effects of their business. There are also many who are not. My Brother’s Coffee provides an independent review of your local coffee shop that will analyze how fair their production is to members of the entire coffee supply chain. The production of coffee should be fair to all.

IS IT ECO-CONSCIOUS

Earth is an incredible gift and we only have one. Because we want to continue to live in it comfortably, it is helpful to know how our consumption effects the environment. Stewarding the Earth will have to be a collective effort. This blog will provide information concerning how environmentally friendly your local shop is.

|| Our Goals ||

KEEP IT SIMPLE

I want to keep the reviews simple and informative. Also, if a reader finds any of the information inaccurate, please let me know! The goal is to encourage producers of holistically beautiful coffee – wherever it is found. The next wave of coffee should bring wonderful products that are fair to all and good for the Earth.
